AZERBAIJAN CARICATURE HOUSE OPENED

The Azerbaijan Caricature House /ACH/ was opened in the building of State Mugham Theater, on April 1.
On this occasion, the first exhibition of Azerbaijan Caricaturists was held. About 10 caricaturists presented over 100 works to the exhibition. Head of ACH, well-known artist-caricaturist, winner of the international caricaturists contests Soltan Soltanli briefly told on centennial history of Azerbaijan caricature.
“We have rich traditions originated in the magazine “Molla Nasraddin” that was published since 1906. In 1952, the first issue of the popular magazine “Kirpi” was published, which continued traditions of Azim Azimzadeh. Our caricaturists take an active part in international contests, festivals, won rewards, Mr. Soltanli noted. He pointed out that caricature is the very popular genre and there were similar houses in numerous countries of world. We have Azerbaijan Caricaturists Union, and now the House, which let us conduct personal exhibitions, contests and festivals.
Editor of “Caricature” magazine Seyran Jafarli presented Soltan Soltanli the diploma of Azerbaijan Caricaturists Union, congratulated on the opening of Azerbaijan Caricaturists House and wished artists creative success.
The public and mass media representatives attended the ceremony.
